Mealworms are a popular food source for poultry, caged birds, wild birds, lizards, turtles and fish. In the wild, foraging would normally produce a wide- ranging diet, and mealworms are a return to this natural habit that can help promote a balanced diet in conjunction with daily feed. Mealworms are a great source of protein and essential nutrients. Supplemental feed can be particularly useful for seed-eating birds where diet is important at breeding time.
