The Scelidosaurus was a dinosaur that wore its own suit of armor! Living around 193 million years ago, this four-legged plant-eater had bony plates and spikes covering its back and sides, much like a knight’s shield. This built-in armor was likely used to protect Scelidosaurus from predators. One of the coolest features? Its legs were heavily armored too, making the Scelidosaurus one of the best-protected dinosaurs of its time, ready to stand its ground in the prehistoric world!
